Staurosporine, a rnicrobial-derived protein kinase inhibitor, reversibly blocked non-synchronized, replicatingcultures of the human lung epithelial cell line EKVX in the G1 phase of cell cycle and inhibited DNA synthesis and cell replication. The mechanism of this cell-cycle arrest in EKVX cells by
## FOR ACQUIRED RESISTANCE OF HUMAN A375 MELANOMA The proliferation of human melanoma cell line A375-6 is inhibited by interleukin I (IL-I). However, the cells acquired resistance to IL-I after a long period of culture. We have reported that 2 resistant subclones, A375-R8 and -R19, produced ILla c
A human melanoma cell line (A375-6) became resistant to the anti-proliferative effect of human IL-l after a long period of culture. Two stable resistant sub-clones were obtained, and the mechanism of the IL-I resistance was investigated. Resistant cells, but not sensitive cells, appeared to produce
