β¦ Synopsis
produce biotin as well. Hence, studies on both vitamin production and media components influence were done. In order to find out compounds from the medium are significant for simultaneous vitamin excretion by Candida spp., a 2 6-2 factorial design was implemented to screen media components. Sucrose and mineral salts were found to be significant for riboflavin and biotin production in the 99% of significance level. Classical shaken fermentation vessel system was used and spectrophtometric determination was done for riboflavin determination and for biotin the HABA-Avidin Sigma kit was employed. The medium was composed by 25 g of sucrose, 0.5 g (NH 4 ) 2 C 4 H 4 O 6 , 1 g KH 2 PO 4 ; 0.5 g MgSO 4 7.H 2 O; 0.5 mL C 3 H 4 (OH)(COO) 3 Fe.H 2 O; 0.5 mL ZnSO 4 .7H2O. After 48 h of fermentation it was reached 12.52 g/mL of Riboflavin and 5.61 g/mL of Biotin. Since it is newly isolated yeast, more studies on the metabolite production and its fermentative behavior are in progress.
