A quench in modern multifilament conductors with voltag~current characteristics, broadened due to a longitudinal inhomogeneity of a critical current, occurs at electric fields high enough to be easily registered. It provides an opportunity to control superconducting solenoids made of such conductors

โฆ Synopsis
The photoresponse of a YBaCuO/ZrO, bolometric structure was measured under modulated ( A = 630 nm) and pulsed (T l i : 7 -8 ns; A = 337 nm) laser excitation. The shape of the measured photoresponse was interpreted by a thermal model; nevertheless, the pulse amplitude for vanishing YBaCuO film resistance was 5 -6 times greater than predicted; the thermal boundary resistance R , between YBaCuO and YSZ was evaluated =lo-' Kxcm*/Watt, which is considerably larger than estimated theoretically for the similar situation of YBaCuO/MgO [5].
