✦ Synopsis

The anodic reaction on a carbon, a graphite or a nickel electrode was studied in a molten NH4F*HF by a few kinds ot electrochemical method;. Amorphous carbon, graphite and nickel were used as the anode and Pt-rod as the reference electrode.

The anode gas was analyzed by both gaschromatography and infrared spectroscopy.

Studies have been made of the reorganization of carbon deposited on cobalt, nickel and iron. Well oriented films of graphite can be prepared by dissolving amorphous carbon in cobalt and nickel at high temperatures, the film being produced by precipitation on cooling. The electrochemical behavior of the ghssy carbon electrode (GCE) in aqueous 1.0-20.OM H F solutions and in mixed solvents containing 15.0 M H F (25 vol.%) was investigated using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry. and surface microscopic analysis. The GCE shows three surface redox peaks in aqueou
