The conference ``Metabolic Engineering, III'' will cover the following subjects: experimental and computational tools; metabolic engineering; application to pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals; metabolic engineering; applications to medicine; evolutionary strategies and metabolic engineering; bioinformatics and metabolic engineering; metabolic engineering of plants; complexity and metabolic engineering; and new directions. The Merck Metabolic Engineering Award Lecture will be presented, as well as oral and poster presentations, keynote addresses, and workshops.
