β¦ Synopsis
High-quality YBa2CusOz-x single crystals were irradiated with 3 MeV electrons below 10 K to fluences of 4.53.1019 cm ~, and then were pulse-annealed isochronally between 80 and 340 K. Unusual radiationinduced temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity in the ab-plane (like a pike) and in the direction along the c-axis (like two-steps) were first revealed. The observed effect can be attributed to the anisotropy of defect production in the single crystals during irradiation. As a result, a quasi two-phase system with a peculiar superconductor critical temperature for each "phase" is formed.
