Localized ckcrrons XII irradiated l,~he~~~ol and l&octar&iol have been identified and studied by E.SR spectroxopy at 4 K. The spectra show an an&tropic hyperfine sLruclure with eouplmgs less than 35 G due to at least IWO protons Spccua recorded from crystals with deuteraled hydroxyl groups vmfy that the trapping site is locahzed close LO a hydrogen bond_
