In the reaction between the potassium salt of E-caprolactam and N-propionyl-e-caprolactam or N-benzoyl-~-caprolactam in tetrahydrofuran at 25;, the consumption of both reactants and the formation of structures giving ketones by hydrolysis were investigated. Analysis of the data allowed determination
