✦ Synopsis
In the reaction between the potassium salt of E-caprolactam and N-propionyl-e-caprolactam or N-benzoyl-~-caprolactam in tetrahydrofuran at 25;, the consumption of both reactants and the formation of structures giving ketones by hydrolysis were investigated. Analysis of the data allowed determination of the relative rates of polymerization, of the acylation of amide groups of a linear monomer unit and of the condensation of diacylamino groups.
