Angleresolved photoemission with synchrotron radiation has been applied to the study of adsorbed ftis of cytosine on Cu ( 110). Using dipole selection rules, we established that in the monolayer the molecules adsorb with the molecular plane perpendicular to the su&ce while in multilayer films only a

Angle-resolved photoelectron spectra taken with synchrotron radiation are presented for monolayers of uracil and thymine adsorbed on Cu( 110). Applying dipole selection rules within the molecular C, symmetry the a' and a" symmetry species have been experimentally determined in the photoeleclron spec

There is no indication of a large ionic charge or of a greatly reduced SiO, bandgap to within about two lattice units
