โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

This study focuses on the blocking performance of hybrid optical codeโ€division multiplexing wavelengthโ€division multiplexing (OCDMโ€WDM) networks under dynamic traffic conditions. Novel lightpath concepts for those hybrid networks are introduced. Simulation of the blocking performance for different lightpath concepts indicate that networks upgraded with wavelength converters offer the best performance. ยฉ 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The effect of noise on the transmission performance of an RSOAโ€utilized bidirectional hybrid WDM/SCMโ€PON link is experimentally analyzed. The link used in experiment allows 33โ€km bidirectional transmission with 622โ€Mbps NRZ signal for downstream and 20โ€Mbps SCM signal at 1.5โ€GHz RF carr
