## Abstract The __neu__ gene in rat neuro/glioblastoma was found to be activated by a single point mutation in the DNA sequence encoding the transmembrane region of the __neu__‐encoded p185 protein. The human homologue of the rat __neu__ gene, termed c‐__erb__B‐2 or __HER__‐2, can also be activated
