β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The influence of impurities on the production of stable defects by electron irradiation at 80 Β°K has been studied in dilute alloys of copper with Ni, Mn, Au, Mg, or Sb. Using damage rate measurements the capture radii of the different impurities for freely migrating copper interstitials are determined with respect to the capture radius of the vacancy (r~t~/r~v~). The interstitial impurity interaction can quantitatively be accounted for by the continuum theory of elasticity.

## Abstract The temperature dependence of the defect production has been investigated by irradiating high purity copper samples with 3 MeV electrons in the temperature range 50 to 207 K. From the initial damage rate the capture radius of the vacancy for migrating interstitials is derived. The obser
The elastic interaction between a disk with a thickness misfit on the (100) plane and a symmetric point defect in a cubic anisotropic crystal is calculated and energy contours for beryllium in copper are presented. The interaction field consists of two polar regions and an equatorial region separate
