Environ analysis, an input-output analysis for models of ecological systems,'has been previously formulated for linear systems. This note has a twofold purpose: first, we indicate that a variation of parameters technique can be applied, at least in principle, to compute both input and output environ

β¦ Synopsis
This paper discusses the mathematical validity of the class of linear periodically time varying compartment models which are commonly employed for the analysis of ecosystems. Valid mathematical models for such systems must have unique stable periodic solutions to which all other solutions converge. In addition, solutions of such ecosystem models which are initially positive must remain positive. The results presented in this paper provide a mathematical verification for the application of linear donor controlled compartment models to ecosystem analysis.

We discuss a method to obtain the initial estimators, which can be used for any iterative procedures to obtain the least-squares estimators. Four di erent types of conΓΏdence inte
## Abstract Residuals are frequently used to evaluate the validity of the assumptions of statistical models and may also be employed as tools for model selection. For standard (normal) linear models, for example, residuals are used to verify homoscedasticity, linearity of effects, presence of outli
An approach based on disposition decomposition analysis (DDA) and the hysteresis minimization principle has been developed for pharmacodynamic modeling. It allows calculation of the mean transit time and the ratio of distribution clearance to biophase distribution volume of drug, and determination o
