A new procedure to formulate and analyze the free vibration problem of structural-acoustic coupled systems is suggested. The system equations are formulated utilizing the concept of the equivalent mass source. The modal expansion method and a matrix transformation technique are used to solve the sys

β¦ Synopsis
Natural frequencies and modes of two-and three-dimensional cavities bounded by elastic structures are obtained. It is shown that the free vibration problems of the structural-acoustic coupled system of two-and three-dimensions can be easily formulated and solved by utilizing the proposed method. General characteristics of the dynamic coupling between the structure and the acoustic cavity are discussed based on the system natural frequencies and mode shapes.

In Part 1 a method was proposed to evaluate the contact acoustic pressure and displacements of the surface of a composite thin-walled structure vibrating in an acoustic medium. Here the full formulation of a problem and its numerical aspect are examined in some detail. As an example, the method is a
A generalized formulation of a boundary integral equations method is presented for analysis of forced vibrations of a composite elastic structure immersed in compressible inviscid fluid.
