✦ Synopsis
The oil from an Israeli shale was fractionated by solvent extraction and silica gel column chromatography. The straight-chain pentane and benzene soluble materials were analysed by the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-selected ion monitoring method. By monitoring specific fragment ions with representative mlzvalues, information was obtained of the chemical structures of the fractions.
