High Frequency Oscillators: From Crystal to Chip
Oscillators are a key component for most high frequency communication systems. In particular the advent of single chip communication systems and the demand for low-power analogue and digital functionality on a single ASIC has meant that 'on-chip' oscillator performance has become a crucial bottleneck in system design.
To address the issue of high performance oscillator design a special issue of the journal will be published to mainly focus upon the design implications and performance requirements of this essential building block. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * novel oscillator architectures * Rf VCOs in CMOS/BiCMOS technology * programmable oscillators * low-noise oscillators applications in PLLs, modems, transceiver chips * current-mode oscillators * oscillator design in emerging technologies * automatic tuning All manuscripts are subject to review.
