A simple and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of 4‐aryl‐3,4‐dihydronaphtho[2,1‐e] [1,3]oxazin‐2‐one and 1‐aryl‐1,2‐dihydronaphtho[1,2‐e][1,3]oxazin‐3‐one derivatives through a one‐pot three‐component coupling of α or β‐naphthol, aromatic aldehydes and urea using a catalytic amount of zinc triflate in refluxing acetonitrile.
