New types of palladium(II)-catalyzed inu'amolecular 1,4-dialkoxylation of 1,3-cyclohexadienes are described. The reactions proceed with high regio-and stereoselectivity and provide an efficient route to novel stereodefined heterocycles such as oxaspirocyclic compounds and fused pyrans.
