Abstract
9โArylacridineโ1,8โdione derivatives were prepared in an ionic liquid medium in the presence of CeCl~3~ ฤ 7H~2~O through an oneโpot procedure. The method presented here has the advantages of environmental benignancy, goodโtoโexcellent yields, and simple operational procedure. Moreover, the solvent and catalyst can be easily recovered and reused for several runs without obvious loss of activity. ยฉ 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
