โฆ Synopsis
Since the discovery of adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate (l-5)) the brilliant work of Sutherland and associates has elucidated an important role for this compound in cell regulation and hormone action (6-10). The present state of our knowledge regarding adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate was summarized recently by Sutherland et al. (11). The ability to study the factors regulating adenyl cyclase activity has been hampered by the lack of a simple assay which is both sensitive and specific. There are several methods reported, but all are either lacking in one of these qualities (6,(12)(13)(14)(15)(16)(17) or detailed studies of the conditions characterizing the assay have not been carried out.
A relatively simple assay for adenyl cyclase which is both sensitive and specific is presented in this report.
