Abstract
The properties of long polymer chains in solution can be determined by direct renormalization of the meanβsquare endβtoβend polymer distance and the effective interaction between two chains. The equations for these quantities, correct up to first order in Ξ΅ = 4 β d, are derived. For γR^2^γ and A~2~ they describe the transfer from Gaussian to nonβGaussian behaviour.
