In the title salt, C~8~H~7~N~2~ ^+^·C~7~H~5~O~4~ ^−^, one of the quinoxaline N atoms is protonated. The cation and anion are nearly coplanar and are connected into a cyclic __R__ ~2~ ^2^(7) motif generated by N—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds. The hydrogen-bonded ionic pairs are arranged into doubl
