Alkynyltin reagents add to the P-position of 3-acylpyridines activated by methyl chloroformate regio-and chemoselectively to give 2,3\_disubstituted 1,2dihydropyridines, whereas alkynyl Grignard reagents suffer from a lack of regioor chemoselectivity.
