## An efficient preparation of ␣-amino phosphonates by the one-pot condensation of aldehydes, amines, and dialkyl phosphites using catalytic amounts of lanthanide chloride under mild conditions is successfully developed. Moreover, the catalyst is water-tolerant and could be recovered and reused.
