β¦ Synopsis
Two assignments for the 3B ,-X 'A I band system of SO, are presented. Vibrational constants for the triplet state are calculated for both assignments. It is shown that both assignments are consistent with existing experimental information on band locations, band intensities, and isotopic shift data. Possible experimental methods to distinguish between the two assignments are briefly discussed.
