## Abstract The ESR. spectra of the radical anions of three cyclazines are described. Their Οβspin distributions are discussed in terms of simple MO theory and compared with those of structurally related species.

The neutral semiquinone radical obtained by photolysis of naphthazarin in THF exhibits linewidth alternation. The tempetature dependence of the ESR spectrum has been interpreted in terms of a restricted rotation of the hydroxyl groups with an activation energy of-22.7 kJ mol-'.
