β¦ Synopsis
An all-optical setαreset flip-flop is presented that is based on two coupled identical laser diodes. The lasers are coupled so that when one of the lasers lases, it quenches lasing in the other laser. The state of the flip-flop is determined by which laser is currently lasing. Rate equations are used to model the flip-flop, and it is experimentally demonstrated by the use of antireflection-coated laser diodes and freespace optics.

We demonstrate an all-optical wavelength converter using a ring cavity that produces conversion efficiency of more than unity within a certain bandwidth. The highly nonlinear fiber is used as the parametric amplifying medium and it is pumped by four independent pump lasers at 1427, 1443, 1461, and 1
## Abstract A novel allβoptical technique for microwave generation using photonic crystal fiber Brillouin laser is presented, and a 9.78βGHz microwave signal generator based on the Brillouin laser is experimentally realized. The Brillouin laser is based on a fiber FabryβPerot cavity with fiber Brag
