✦ Synopsis
The (δ-hydroxyalkenyl)(pyrrolidino)carbene complexes, prepared by means of aldol additions of the (propenyl)(pyrrolidino)carbene complex to p-nitrobenzaldehyde and 4-pyridinecarbaldehyde, have been treated with methyl N-(triethylammoniosulfonyl)carbamate inner salt (Burgess reagent) to afford the corresponding adducts in almost quantitative yields. Treatment of these adducts with NaOH in methanol gave the corresponding conjugated polyunsaturated (amino)carbene complexes in fair yields. Alternatively, heating the adducts to 55-60 °C led to the isolation of cyclopropylacetic acid de-

## Abstract An efficient method for the synthesis of compounds containing a quinoline moiety by using __o__‐aminophenyl alkynyl Fischer carbene complexes as starting materials is described. The reaction is based on a cascade process involving [1,5]‐hydride transfer/cyclization to afford new alkenyl
The chiral hydrazone synthesized from 2,3-di-O-benzyl-D-glyceraldehyde and benzoic acid hydrazide undergoes addition with methylmagnesium bromide in the presence of cerium trichloride in a diastereoselective manner. The major addition compound can be easily transformed into cx-hydrazinopropanoic aci
The title heterocycle is prepared in enantiomerically pure form and in 46-50% overall yield from (S)-asparagine, a readily available starting material. The synthetic route described in this report represents a major improvement over the original procedure (Tetrahedron: Asymmetry 1991, 3, 723), that
