โฆ Synopsis
Huntsman Tioxide plans to install a third 50,000 tonnes/y unit at its Greatham chloride-route TiO 2 plant, near Hartlepool in northeast England. The unit will be designed to use Tioxide's patented ICON (integrated chlorination and oxidation) technology. The $80 M unit should be completed during the second half of 2007 and should be fully operational in early 2008. This will raise capacity at Greatham to 150,000 tonnes/y.
Huntsman stated that the Greatham expansion will be the first of several major steps to be taken by the Pigments business plans to further strengthen its global TiO 2 market position.
