โฆ Synopsis
Separation of the Saturated Fatty Acids.-The saturated fatty acids remaining from the permanganate oxidation experiment were separated from each other quantitatively by fractional crystallization from methanol a t low temperatures (14). Palmitic and stearic acids were identified in the fractions by mixed melting points.
