✦ Synopsis
Agrochelin (1), a new cytotoxic thiazole alkaloid, has been isolated from the fermentation broth of a marine unicellular bacterium belonging to genus Agrobacterium. Its structure was determined from spectral data and chemical transformations. Agrochelin showed chelating properties to the Zn 2÷ ion.
