✦ Synopsis
Concentration-dependent changes of absorption spectra of rhodamine 6G (R6G) embedded in silica gel films have been investigated. Dimers of R6G molecules in the gel matrix have been found at concentrations of about 0.1 M. The dimer and monomer spectra as well as the dimerization critical radius have been determined. The dependence of the dimerization strength on the duration of polycondensation reaction was observed. To explain these results, a fractal approach has been proposed and compared with other treatments.
