✦ Synopsis

Prominent ligands like aniline, benzoic acid, dithiobenzoic acid, and last but not least an acac derivative are used as the building blocks for the synthesis of mesoporous organosilica materials. The attachment of transition metal ions to the surfaces leads not only to interesting catalytic materials, but due to the high density of ligand functionalities cooperative magnetic phenomena and ultimately ferromagnetism could be observed.
