β¦ Synopsis
We have observed additions of allylmagnesium chloride to allenols, reactions related to the additions to alkenols 1,2 and alkynols 2-4 that are promoted by the hydroxyl function. 5J6 In addition to providing interesting products, this investigation indicates that the products obtained from additions of Grignard reagents to alkynols would be accompanied by products resulting from additions to the allenols sometimes formed by isomerization of the alkynols.
