โฆ Synopsis
The number of publications on instructional evaluation and improvement has grown substantially in the last decade. It is virtually impossible to produce a short bibliography that is both intensive and extensive. The following bibliography was therefore generated with certain restrictions: First, only recent materials were reviewed-essentially, those published during the last five years (although some earlier materials were also included). Second, resources were included only if their primary focus was on instructional evaluation, effectiveness, or improvement at the postsecondary level. Third, in the references on instructional evaluation, there was a strong bias toward evaluation by students; this bias, however, is not only that of the current bibliography but, unfortunately, also one of current institutional practice. And, finally, this bibliography was compiled with an explicit bias toward the inclusion of articles that applied methodological techniques that are relatively uncommon or novel in the instructional literature. Abrami, P. C. "Dimensions of Effective College Instruction." Reoiew of This article provides a good critical review of a decade of research into the dimensions or factors that characterize effective college instructors.
