β¦ Synopsis
Tetrafluorohydrazine was added to neat perfluoro-t-butyl hypofluorite, where N2F4 functions as a fluoroxy fluoronium ion acceptor, to form a white crystalline adduct (m.p. % 15O'C) in 50% yield. The product, which is soluble in hydrogen fluoride and characterized by IR, "F NMR and mass spectra, is suggested as pentafluorohydrazinium perfluoro-t-butoxide. The analytical results of the salt are described and discussed.

Reports to date of free radical additions to isocyanides are rare as well as inconclusive. (2) Recently, we initiated a study of such reactions aimed at (i) assessing their generality, and (ii) their facility relative to other well-defined free radical reactions. We wish to report our initial find
The radical reactions of 2,6-di-t. butyl-1,4-benzoquinone with various thermally decomposing azocompounds and peroxides have been studied by ESR. On the basis of the ESR spectra of the intermediate radicals, the mechanism of the reaction is suggested. It was found that, while primary alkyl radicals
