✦ Synopsis

A principle in surface sampling and mesh generation is that highly curved areas should be sampled densely and oice versa. The paper presents an approach for automated surface sampling and adaptive mesh generation in accordance with this principle. The approach is self-organizing, forming topology-preserving mesh from random initialization. Mesh spacing uersus surface curvedness can be easily controlled by a single parameter in the shape function. Key locations can be prescribed by imposing additional boundary conditions. Experiments are presented.

In this paper, we begin by recalling an adaptive mesh generation method governed by isotropic and anisotropic discrete metric maps, by means of the generation of a unit mesh with respect to a Riemannian structure. We propose then an automatic triangular to quadrilateral mesh conversion scheme, which

A general and efficient remeshing algorithm is presented for the discretization of arbitrary planar domains into triangular elements in consistency with the given node spacing function. The contour lines of the node spacing function at suitable calculated levels provide the natural lines of divisio
