โฆ Synopsis
In this paper, an adaptive controller is put forward for bilinear systems with bounded disturbances. Its closed-loop stability is proved and the upper bound of the control error is given.
The bilinear adaptive controller has been used in the control of a pH process, which is difficult to control due to its highly nonlinear nature. Experiments on a pilot glutamic acid crystalization plant show that the bilinear ~d~ive pH controller has satisfactory static and dynamic performances, and can adapt to changes in process conditions.

Although biological sensors are not available for on-line control of microbial cell growth in waste treatment and fermentation systems, an observable bilinear model permits the use of an on-line observer to estimate the unmeasurable variables.
Recently, a design of model matching and adaptive control systems under the presence of measurement noise employing a nonminimal order state observer was reported. But this method cannot be used for the case where the plant has deterministic disturbances. In this paper, we will show that the idea is
