โฆ Synopsis
The scope of the word "adaptive" in the literature of feedback control systems is discussed. Approaching the subject from biological adaptation, the author shows that any control system which makes effective use of feedback is adaptive, and therefore recommends that "adaptive" should not be used to denote a separate class of feedback control systems.

The proposed control uses techniques of speed-gradient methodology from the Russian literature. Stability results can be given that do not require com
In this paper we present an adaptive output feedback controller for feedback linearizable non-linear systems. It employs a high-gain observer with estimate saturation which is crucial in achieving semiglobal asymptotic stabilization to the origin and, if the regressor vector is persistently exciting
