Reaction of 2,4,6-tris(4-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine (tpt) with excess nitric acid in an aqueous solution affords the title compound, C~18~H~15~N~6~ ^3+^Β·3NO~3~ ^β^. The torsion angles between adjacent aromatic rings are much larger than those of neutral tpt. All three pyridine N atoms are protonated.
The title compound, C 24 H 18 O 9 S 3 , crystallizes with two molecules per asymmetric unit, with distinctly different conformations, as quantified by the C-O-S-C torsion angles.
In the title compound, C 12 H 18 O 5 , the ring has a chair conformation, with endocyclic torsion angle magnitudes in the range 47.7 (3)-66.7 (2) . The OH group donates an intermolecular hydrogen bond to a C O group with an OΓ Γ ΓO distance of 2.791 (3) A Λ, forming chains. organic papers o2662 Burt
The prolonged photo-Arbuzov reaction (3 weeks, Hg lamp) of 1,3,5-trichloro-benzene with a large excess of trimethyl phosphite (as a solvent) at 508 gives moderate yields of dimethyl (3,5-dichlorophenyl)phosphonate (1; 14.5%), tetramethyl (5-chloro-1,3-phenylene)bis[phosphonate] (2; 35.4%), and hexam
