Bromouracil and its Nueleosides on the Morphogenesis of the Cuttings of Etiolated Tomato Seedlings Summary. 1. 5-Bromouracil inhibits the growth of the hypocotyl and the rhizogenesis in the cuttings of etiolated tomato seedlings only at high concentrations. 5-Bromouridine is inactive, but 5-bromodeo

✦ Synopsis
Influence ot 2-Thiouracil on the Root Formation in Cuttings of Etiolated Tomato Seedlings Summary 1. 2-Thiouracil inhibits hypocotyl growth, adventitious root formation and growth of adventitious roots in cuttings of etiolated tomato seedlings.
-
The inhibition of the growth of hypoeotyl was reversed totally by uracil and eytosin, but only partially by orotic acid and thymine.
-
The inhibition of the growth of adventitious roots was reversed by orotie acid, uracil and cytosine, but not by thymine.
-
The inhibition of adventitious root formation was reversed neither by orotie acid nor by uracil, cytosine, or thymine.

A hypothesis based on data in the literature is proposed to explain this latest result. La n6oformation d'une racine est l'aboutissement d'nne activit6 mitotique intense circonserite ~ eertaines eellules, au tours de laquelle s'organise progressivement un m@rist~me radical typique.
