โœฆ Synopsis

In this review, impedance sensors are presented as linear sensors with two entries whose signals are in#uenced by both pressure and volume velocity. Pressure is generally measured with a microphone, therefore impedance sensors are classi"ed according to the way the volume velocity is determined or controlled. The review touches on the multi-port characterization which is shown to be a generalization of impedance measurement. Finally the question of the calibration and error sources is discussed.

A calibration method for input impedance sensors which permits an accurate determination of the calibration parameters is presented. The method is based on the measurement of two closed tubes of di!erent lengths whose propagation constant is not required to be accurately known. This method is shown

This paper presents an analytical investigation of the direct method of measurement of the source impedance of a linear time-variant source. The direct method yields a frequencydependent e!ective source impedance which is routinely used in a time-invariant analysis to determine the insertion loss of

This paper presents an analytical investigation into the relationship between the characteristics of a linear, time-variant acoustic source, and the e!ective source impedance and source strength which follow if one then assumes the source to be time invariant. It thus models the indirect measurement

In this paper, the finite element method is used to examine the stresses predicted around transducers in a uniform applied vertical stress field. Vertical transducers and stress state transducers, disturbed zones (both weaker and stronger) around the transducer and the influence of soil shear and co
