โฆ Synopsis
Utilizing the superposition method, an accurate analytical type solution is described for resolving the problem of free vibration of cantilever plates with rectangular orthotropy. A number of verification checks performed to verify the mathematical procedure are described. Convergence is found to be rapid and eigenvalues are tabulated for a wide range of plate aspect ratios and a number of combinations of values of orthotropic parameters. Full delineation is made between symmetric and antisymmetric modes. It is believed the tabulated results will prove useful to designers and provide a reference against which other researchers can compare their results.
