## Abstract The dynamics of planktonic rotifer in Laguna Ezquerra (Rio Negro, Argentina) was studied from October 1988 to March 1989, in relation to food resources and cladoceran populations. During the spring and summer period, total rotifer density differed markedly. In spring rotifer populations

β¦ Synopsis
Twenty species of planktonic rotifers were important in Lake Biel during 1978 . Eight species were present throughout the year, four species occurred only in spring and eight species in summer or autumn . Rotifer numbers attained two major maxima, one in May (19 .3 106 ind . m2) and one in August (16 .5 10 6 ind . M-2) . Predominant genera were Synchaeta, Polyarthra, Conochilus, Asplanchna and Keratella . Within the genus Synchaeta a succession of different species was observed .

Zooplankton samples from the middle reach of the Po River were collected daily from 27 July to 24 August 1988 from a station located near Viadana. Changes in the biocoenosis structure were analyzed in relation to variations in flow rate. Rotifers accounted for more than 99% of the total zooplankton
## Abstract Species composition, abundance, and spatial distribution of rotifer and crustacean zooplankton were studied in Lake Ziway from late April to early July 2004. A total of 49 rotifer species was recorded, with __Anuraeopsis fissa, Brachionus angularis, Filinia novaezealandiae,__ and __Tri
The quantitative succession of the spring and summer rotifer plankton and its biomass in six lakes of the Eastern Rift Valley of Kenya is discussed . The lakes can be divided into two groups : the low conductivity slightly alkaline lakes Naivasha, Oloidien and the Winam Gulf of Lake Victoria ; and t
The abundances, population dynamics and production of the rotifer community of Lough Neagh were examined for a three year period. Keratella cochlearis was the most abundant species accounting for over 40% of biomass followed by Polyarthra dolichoptera and Notholca acuminata. The mean standing crop f
The seasonal dynamics of the biomass and production of phyto-, zoo-and bacterioplankton was investigated during the vegetation periods (from May to November) in 1985 and 1986 in the pelagial of the large eutrophic lake Peipsi (Estonia). The average values of productions per vegetation period for the
