โฆ Synopsis
Difke~~ in the "P nuclear shielding in the ztro-prcssurc limit have been measured in seven compounds. An absolute ,'P shielding scale based on the PHS molecular beam data is established and the absolute shielding of the standard liquid refercncc (85% aqueous H$Od) is found to he 328.35 ppm, based on PH, being 594.45 f 0.63 ppm. Comparisons with ab iuitio calculations show that eakulations using local origins (the IGLG method) are in good agreement with experiment.

C chemical shifts have been measured relative to ')CO in the zero-pressure limit for over twenty molecules for which theoretical calculations of "C nuclear shielding have recently been reported. The phase equilibria in mixtures of dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (I)OPC), dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DOPE) and water were studied by 3~p-NMR and 2H-NMR. The chemical shift anisotropy is greater for DOPC than for DOPE (6-9 ppm in the lamellar phase). This difference can most probably be ascribe
