Two hundred ninety experimental absolute intensities of 1 and 3 transitions of ozone have been measured, with good accuracy (Ͻ2%). They are used to derive the transition-moment parameters for these bands. The agreement between our observed and calculated line intensities is satisfactory. This work s

✦ Synopsis
Laboratory spectral data (peak positions and integrated band intensities) of the infrared bands of acrylonitrile (CH 2 CHCN) gas in the region 4000 -220 cm Ϫ1 are presented. Even though CH 2 CHCN has not yet been identified in Titan's atmosphere, it is among the possible photochemical and cosmic irradiation products of CH 4 ϩ N 2 chemistry in the atmosphere of Titan. Laboratory simulations of Titan's atmospheric chemistry also give CH 2 CHCN as a product species. The results of our evaluation of the infrared intensity data provide an upper limit of the stratospheric abundance of CH 2 CHCN.

## Abstract The MM3 molecular mechanics program calculates a fair representation of vibrational frequencies for molecules. To make this information more useful, a qualitative intensity calculation has been added, as is described herein. Because each bond in the molecule is assigned a dipole moment,
Absolute line intensities of NH 3 in the 2 band were measured for a number of rovibrational lines using a high-resolution Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. The transition dipole moments calculated from the absolute intensities showed significant and systematic deviations from the usual rotati
