Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can produce profound disturbances in the central nervous system, characterized by encephalopathy, focal neurologic deficits, cerebral infarction, psychosis, and seizures. We used "P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to determine the in vivo levels of hi
