✦ Synopsis

A perfusion technique applicable to metabolic studies by NMR is described in detail.

The utility and versatility of the approach are demonstrated by following gluconeogenesis from [2-'3C]pyruvate in the pehsed, isolated mouse liver, and lipogenesis from [2-I3C]acetate in perfused Acantharnoeba castellanii cells embedded in agarose filaments.

## Abstract A double‐tuned single coil probe for high field metabolic NMR studies has been designed and tested. The resonant coil is a single‐turn of copper foil wound on a quartz cylinder. It is fed by a short length of parallel strip line made of the same material; the feeder is also used as a tu

The formation of a covalent adduct to a single phospholipid by the oxidative chloroform metabolite, phosgene, is demonstrated in liver mitochondria of phenobarbital-pretreated Sprague Dawley (SD) rats treated with CHCl3. The densitometric analysis of the phosphorus stained extracted phospholipids sh
