An insert for a.c. susceptibility measurements on high Tc superconductors was constructed which, in the temperature interval 80-115K allows one to set sample temperature by combining rapid response (>1 Kmin -1) with high stability (within \_\_.0.01 K). The copper coil involved, immersed in liquid ni
